On the cusp of manhood, he was captured by slavers, but not before incurring heavy losses on them. As punishment he was sold into hard, inhumane labor, his uncontrollable temperament only earning him worse conditions and crueler masters. When he killed his final overseer it was clear he would never be a fit slave. He was sold to whatever mercenary bands had use of him, changing hands as conflicts demanded. Ironically, his new masters found that giving him the minor freedom of violence upon their opponents kept him just tame enough to be contained -if not controlled.
In his deepest fury, he is incapable of distinguishing friend from foe or even understanding language.
