• The Rot is a breed of mutated mindslaver mold created by the demon lord Cyth-V'sug.
• The Rot was brought to Havenbrook's borders by uncleaned shipments of food arriving from Usmana in the early days of Usmana's independence as a nation.
• The hedgemaze had been much smaller at the time, being only about five miles from the capital of Havenbrook.
• The arrival of the Rot brought much devastation to Havenbrook's druids, nearly wiping them out.
• When the Coven had finally managed to push the Rot back out of the maze, expansion efforts on the Maze began immediately and patrols were increased.
• Many Restorers fell victim to the Rot, keeping the infestation alive despite the combined efforts of the Coven and the Restorers.
• The bringing of thr Rot by the Usmanans to Havenbrook caused political tensions for many years, despite Elora's former familiar being the king of Usmana.
• Political tensions have eased some what over the years, largely in part due to Usmana becoming much more thorough in the inspection and cleaning of their crops.
• The infestation at the outer edges of the hedgemaze still persists to this day and both the Coven and the Restorers remain ever vigilant.
• Members of the Coven and the Restorers have never encountered the mutated version of the Rot found in Odrax, there is no telling what devastation the new strain might bring were it ever to find it's way to the borders of the hedgemaze.
